Applesauce Lemon Pie

One 9-inch pieIngredients
crisco pastry for a double-crust pie
1-1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 cup crisco all-vegetable shortening or 1/4 crisco stick
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1-1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce

Methods/steps
line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry; set aside.
preheat oven to 450°F.
combine applesauce, brown sugar, eggs, crisco, lemon juice, lemon peel, sell, nutmeg, and cinnamon; mix well.
pour filling into the unbaked pie shell.
bake at 450°F for 16 minutes; reduce heat to 3000. continue baking for 45 to 55 minutes or until a knife inserted in filling halfway between center end edge comes out clean.
coal thoroughly on a rack before cutting.
