for crust, mix the flour and salt, and cut in shortening until the size of a pea. beat the egg, vinegar, and water together with fork. add gradually to flour mixture. divide, wrap in plastic & chill 1/2 hour. (makes 3 shells.)
for filling, blend sour cream, sugar, flour, egg, and vanilla until smooth. add apples and pour into shell. bake 45 minutes at 400°F.
for topping, mix topping ingredients together, evenly sprinkle over pie; bake 5 minutes longer.
