in mixing bowl, cream together crisco, granulated sugar, and brown sugar till light and fluffy. add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each; add vanilla. combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; stir into creamed mixture. stir in oats and walnuts. shape dough into two 8-inch rolls. wrap in waxed paper or clear plastic wrap. chill thoroughly, about 3 hours.
preheat oven to 350°F. cut dough into 1/4-inch slices. place on greased cookie sheet. bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes. cool on rack.
