preheat oven to 425°F.
put crisco into a mixer bowl. add swiss cheese gradually, beating at medium speed until fairly smooth. combine flour and salt; add to cheese mixture alternately with water.
shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough to form 1-inch balls. place on ungreased cookie sheets.
make an indentation in center of each ball; fill with 1/2 teaspoon liver sausage spread. top with a pickle or olive slice as desired.
bake at 425°F for 12 to 15 minutes. serve warm.
